The Audit Service Sierra Leone (ASSL), has received a pledge of support from the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India through capacity building and training programmes in various external audit areas.
This ASSL will benefit from this support following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), between the two Supreme Audit Institutions(SAIs), which was facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
As a result of the cooperation demonstrated by SAI Sierra Leone through the MoU, SAI India is pleased to extend its support through capacity building and training programmes in the following areas: Information Technology (IT), Audit and the use of IT Audit Tools; Performance Audit (basic and advance levels); Data Analytics and Risk-Based Auditing, and Audit of Emerging Technologies and Cybersecurity Frameworks.
ASSL has been assured that, these programmes can be hosted at SAI India’s premier training institutions including the International Centre for Information Systems and Audit (iCISA) in Noida and the International Centre for Environmental Audit and Sustainable Development (iCED) in Jaipur which are recognised by the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), as global training facilities.
In a bid to advance professional development and audit excellence, SAI India expressed willingness to depute experts to Sierra Leone to conduct on-site or in-country customised training programmes tailored to meet the specific needs and priorities, on terms to be agreed by both institutions.
It could be recalled that the ASSL signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Supreme Audit Institution of India to strengthen partnership, knowledge exchange and capacity building endeavours in accordance with the existing laws of both countries.
